Re: F2FS filesystem performance. Improve read speed.

I agree fio is not so easy to use, but it still interesting in some cases (benchmarks) ... fio needs to be used into a quiet system, without some heavy background process like clamd antivirus deamon in use, synaptic xapian index in use, etc...

Re: F2FS filesystem performance. Improve read speed.

As a suggestion: Maybe some accurate tests should be more pertinents (spectrum 4k to 1M) ... with fio Seen here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/87035/how-to-check-hard-disk-performance ....If you want accuracy, you should use fio. It requires reading the manual (man fio) but it will give you accura...

... Not at all. When there is a kernel update in main distro, it will generate a new /boot/grub/grub.cfg file. But /boot/grub/ custom .cfg file does not change. And I don't need to change custom.cfg file in my main distro, since the entries in my custom.cfg file are made up only of chainloaders or ...

Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

... Nope, custom.cfg is totally not affected by updates to grub.cfg via update-grub. It exists outside of the grub.cfg menu items and I don't edit grub.cfg at all. Ah Ok, then sorry for the mistake. Re: Help with Grub Customizer not Saving Configurations Correctly

... Instead I have a /boot/grub/custom.cfg file in my main distro, containing menu items which are either chainloader entries pointing towards the grub bootloader of the other distro(s) [their bootloaders are in root partition] or are entries directly running the grub.cfg file of that other distro....
