Re: Calling for submissions - MX18 wallpapers

I took this photo 2 years ago in Ecuador, it is a huge volcano. I used it as WP for a long time and It could be a good WP for MX-18 though.

Re: Converting Large Image Files

Hmmm,

On that path you should refer to the temporal folder for cache.

Try this:

Code: Select all

convert -define registry:temporary-path=/data/tmp -limit memory 2mb \ logo: something.bmp something.jpg
In case you have enough disk space you do not have to limit the cache.

Re: Converting Large Image Files

Maybe you could try convert but adding an instruction to assign free space of your hard disk to operate. See Large Image Support on this article:

Re: Could we see the end of Google?

I hope one day in the future we, the humanity, will be laughing about the "privacy corruption era" (Microsoft, Google, Apple, and 10 million apps).

Re: Email programs with MX Linux 17.1 ..

In my super slow netbook I use Mutt with w3m. It runs faster than any other email client that I have tried.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Scribus-ng Thread

Hi Stevo,

Scribus 1.4.7 works flawlessly. I've been using it for a month with complex documents (3 languages, 4 or more layers, many typefaces, EPS and high quality photos, many built-in polygons, few extension scripts, and several different profile PDF outputs)

Thanks,

Re: MX Live-USB Maker doesn't want to read my SD card

OK, I see now what's going on, I think it's detected but it's detected as non-removable disks and we usually filter those out. One way to do this is to use the command line tool "live-usb-maker" and add --force=usb to disable that check, so: sudo live-usb-maker --force=usb It worked great! I think ...

Re: MX Live-USB Maker doesn't want to read my SD card

Does the SDcard shows up as a target device? It does not. The command line shows: diego@DiegoMX:~ $ sudo sh -xc 'partprobe; sleep 1;partprobe; sleep 1; live-usb-maker' [sudo] password for diego: + partprobe + sleep 1 + partprobe + sleep 1 + live-usb-maker ===========================================...
