Re: Can't full install to USB stick

Off topic: Oh man! I had a good friend with chronic Lymes. He participated in test studies including one that gave him massive antibiotics to try to get some through the blood brain barrier. Didn't work. I have chronic health issues too so I can relate. I had to take last year off. Thank you, @Bitj...

Is there a King James Version available that can work with Linux?
Almost all Bible progs will give you the KJV right out of the box since it's royalty-free outside Britain. But it's not alone in that regard.

Re: PulseAudio Equalizer won't start

That looks right. Mine didn't set that up automatically, and some kind soul here showed me how to do it manually. Glad that's working for you. :)

Re: I've noticed that the MX forum is as busy as the Manjaro forum

Just intuitively I've noticed a big uptick in volume here in recent days. I think the increasing popularity of the distro is at root, and also the new(? - to me, anyway) unread posts page does a lot to make all corners of the forum accessible and encourage traffic.

Re: PulseAudio Equalizer won't start

Make sure you've actually invoked qpaeq. Open the audio mixer and on the Playback tab you can assign it to various running progs.

Re: Can't full install to USB stick

For partitioning I would again suggest using the command line live-usb-maker program. For example you could use: sudo live-usb-maker partition-make makefs copy-uefi This will make the partitions, make the file systems and copy what is needed to boot via uefi from the fat32 partition. You can also u...

Re: Can't full install to USB stick

What an odyssey this has been. I have been using the live session stick with persistence, and find it does everything I need a usb stick to do. But then I decided to Remaster it, to incorporate the changes, and found my 4GB stick left too little space for that. So I tried cloning the 4GB Kingston st...

BUT one stuff is for sure, you may NOT choose GPT for the USB-key ...
Thank you for your input here. I had read somewhere that GPT was the way to avoid a lot of switching around in the UEFI. Next time I try this, if it doesn't work I will try reverting back to MBR.

Re: Why is MX Linux so successful and popular?

I think ultimately MX's success is due to a very talented and dedicated group of devs who also are willing to help out the user base. Hard combination to beat.

Re: Discussion about Bible software

I also favor having things on local disk when possible. The Web interfaces are getting very good indeed, but I don't think they're up to what theWord can do. There are too many features to recount, but the Clipboard Monitor and the ability to write my own study notes as a commentary, with scrolling ...
