Re: Wiki entry on locale

.. ok, application wise some languge-package update automatism for e.g. libre-office, firefox, thunderbird etc would still be a nice enhancement compared to the current manually selection within MXPI... ... :puppy: I think the localization support in MXPI works pretty well. The point I was trying t...

Re: Wiki entry on locale

My understanding: A "locale" is (at least) two settings in one. 1. UI language 2. Regional settings (country, date format, currency, 12/24 hour clock) For example Skype and SeaMonkey don't respect time format so if locale is English-US will always display 12 hour clock (can be seen as bugs). There a...

Re: Is PulseAudio good enough?

I have set up MX Linux to use ALSA without removing PulseAudio packages. A small change in /etc/pulse/client.conf (can be made per user instead): autospawn=no In Xfce > Settings Manager > Session and Startup > Application Autostart I unchecked PulseAudio items and created a new item called Volumicon...

Is PulseAudio good enough?

Do you use VoIP (SIP, Skype etc.) or do audio/video editing? Is PulseAudio good enough or is it only good enough for watching Youtube and play some mp3s? I don't think PulseAudio is good enough for VoIP. Sometimes it works reasonably, but sometimes it's too laggy. My general opinion is that PulseAud...

Re: Knowledgebase

Thanks. This is going to be useful. I'm soon done testing Xubuntu and Xfce 4.14 and will install antiX instead.

Re: Firefox now working without pulseaudio!!

Minor point perhaps, but I noticed that ESR was not displaying the icons on my bookmarks toolbar correctly - just generic icons, whereas FF displays the actual wesite icons correctly. Literally just cranked up ESR - so maybe Iam missing something. You need to visit the websites after importing book...

Re: LXQt and KDE respins - personal projects

I think Xfce is the best desktop. It's so modular they don't really have to do releases. They can update a component at a time. You can replace many Xfce components with other components from for example MATE or LXDE like Peppermint OS does. KDE is the opposite. Everything is intertwined giving me a...
