Re: GTK themer creates scalable GTK3 themes

Yes, just make sure to select the "lowest" versions he offers, because otherwise Stretch gtk compatibility might be a problem. I think he'll gradually improve these themes. Radiobuttons were a little pixelated, but I think he fixed it for the newest Gnome.

I tracked down the bug reports and fix for the ugly GTK3 rendering

I wondered why this hasn't been mentioned more, because it's "in your face" especially if you switch to a fully GTK3 environment like MATE. Maybe some drivers aren't affected. I thought it was limited to AMD, but it seems more drivers are affected. Maybe if you are using an SSD or a dark theme it's ...

Re: GTK themer creates scalable GTK3 themes

I tried both themes in MATE. They worked as advertised. They probably work in Xfce too, but only with GTK3 applications of course. It's just themes so the icons are unaffected. Anyway, these themes are a nice workaround for fractional scaling in GTK3.

GTK themer creates scalable GTK3 themes

I noticed that GTK themer paulxfce (he has been active on this forum) has created themes called Nextwaita and Flexium for Gnome. They are interesting because he states: A major (personal) achievement is the creation of a gradually scalable version of Nextwaita. By using 'Gnome-Tweaks/Fonts/Scalable ...

Re: Good old (*new) MX

The biggest threat on Windows = Windows Update! I don't know why Microsoft is acting like this. Not even mobile OSes install updates without user confirmation. Something is fishy, because it doesn't make sense at all. I think it's a way to condition users to accept Windows as a cloud service. Buy a ...

Wayland is getting closer

Someone PMed me about Wayland. I wrote this and might as well post it here. It's opinions but I tried to stick to facts to the best of my knowledge. I see Wayland as another nail in the coffin for the Linux desktop, but I'm sure there are more positive forum members that might want to comment. The m...

Re: MX: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly (long post!)

I like both MX Linux and Windows (LTSC version which is similar to Windows 7). Linux and Windows have different strengths and weaknesses. I don't think either system will ever completely match the other. If you expect Linux to be Windows or Windows to be Linux you'll be disappointed. I was, but then...

Re: MX tools are gone from my menu(the right side of it)

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your insights on this topic. Alacarte did what I wanted to do. Menu Libre has more functionality. MX Menu Editor I did not fully understand... but I remember it actually let me do something in the past that I wasn't able to do in another way. Xfce and MATE use the...

Re: MX tools are gone from my menu(the right side of it)

@dreamer, maybe, but no idea what could've been if that is the case Installing/uninstalling KDE can break any other DE in my experience. Maybe you won't notice at first, because it's the little things. I do think KDE had something to do with the disappearance of MX Tools, because it only happened w...
