I assumed that since if it works with GTK 3 GNOME 3, it would work with other GTK 3 desktops...unless it's just left over from GNOME 2.
It's from the glory days of Gnome 2. Last updated in 2009.

I use gnome-color-chooser to tweak colors and other elements of themes in XFCE. It should also work in Mate.
gnome-color-chooser modifies gtk2 themes so it might work in Xfce 4.12, but it won't work in MATE which is fully gtk3.

Re: Discuss init here if you wish

We are looking into an innocuous way of hiding it that lets you easily switch back and forth to see the flood of text. Mint hides it with a loading graphic just as MS used to on Windows. Don't you remember that useless bar thing that never matched it's size with the length of loading time left on X...

Re: Discuss init here if you wish

When we went away from the Debian default of systemd back in 2017, it seemed like the gains from switching to OpenRC were not worth the extra effort. I must have found MX Linux shortly after the switch, probably because I was looking to get away from systemd. Oct 15 2017 I joined the forum and I pr...

Discuss init here if you wish

This was intended to go into the poll thread, but I agree that's not the right place. So I make this thread instead. IMO the Debian version of sysvinit has always been very kludgy going back to 2002 or so when I first encountered it. The init system used on Gentoo made so much more sense and was so ...

Re: [Solved] MX-Snapshot not excluding specific folder/files mentioned in exclusion list

I'm not sure it would have a problem with an empty row, the problem was the empty space after the excluded file name. I think in a way it's a bug in mksquashfs they should trim that space not ignore the entire entry. Got it. Thanks. In my case it didn't matter because my snapshots were created on A...

Re: [Solved] MX-Snapshot not excluding specific folder/files mentioned in exclusion list

The trailing blank space was removed from /etc/mx-snapshot-exclude.list so this is fixed (if you didn't get the update you can remove the training blank space manually from that file). Basically the exclude line was ignored because of the trailing blank space, now it's fixed. It works. Thank you. :...

Re: MX-18.2 - Firefox scrollbar width

gnome-color-chooser doesn't work for Xfce. I think it was made for the Gnome 2 desktop so it's a very old tool.

Re: [Solved] MX-Snapshot not excluding specific folder/files mentioned in exclusion list

It seems that mksquashfs does stuff in a non-standard way that makes things more complicated and confusing If I understand correctly this is a pretty serious bug, making snapshots fail to boot on different graphics hardware. Can we get an update when snapshots are working properly? I'm holding off ...

Being bandwidth-thrifty I use mxrepo.com/snapshots/?C=M;O=D to select the most recent iso
You should probably avoid snapshots. Use a release ISO instead.
