With synaptic too you can select which repository to look through and only look at antix Linux 4.17 and 4.18 have NSA's speck in them if you get them from Debian. AntiX has that crap turned off. If you use either pcmanfm or spacefm you can try $ pcmanfm --desktop $ pcmanfm --desktop-off to turn it off, as a desktop manager. Although I too have aging eyesight and the inherent hardheadedness to refuse wearing glasses, I too have problems with those cloud entry "no-robot" screenings. But the issue is not really images that are unclear but that the gatekeeper is using the "robot" excuse to enforce that ...

I don't know which init system precedes which in birthdate but OpenRC, S6, and Runit all took off, in interest and development, because of systemd. So this is one thing we must be thankful to systemd. If you think of another, let us know
