Re: Brave-Browser not found

You can add and use their repository for Ubuntu "xenial" safely in MX 17/18, at least in my testing. This means you need to edit the commands they give to fill in the Ubuntu version you're using with just "xenial": Add key: curl -s https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-core.asc | sud...

Re: Brave-Browser not found

I did a sudo apt update and now it's not showing.

So, is there any way to install the brave browser in MX ?

(I've tried a number of instructions from googling
'how to install the brave browser in Debian', but
none of them worked.)

Re: Brave-Browser not found

Can't figure out how to include a screenshot in a post,

but if you just open the MX Package Installer and click

on the Stable Repo tab and search for brave, you will

see it; brave-browser 0.65.121

Re: Updator is broken [Solved]

The following may not work for all but I have had this error several times in the past. What always worked for me was to use the MX Repo Manager and change to a different mirror. I just assumed that the repository that I was using had not been updated yet. Anyway, maybe the problem is something else...

Re: how to keep an app from running more than one instance

This is talking about multiple instances of a shell script rather than an application, but it may be useful: https://www.golinuxcloud.com/check-if-script-is-already-running-shell-linux/ Thank you JayM ! I went to that link and used method one and added the code to the beginning of my script and it ...

how to keep an app from running more than one instance(SOLVED)

Not sure what section this question should go under; please move if needed. I maintain several computers at a senior center; they're all running MX 18.1 on older Core 2 duo desktops. The problem is that the users will click to start the browser, in this case Slimjet, and because it doesn't appear in...

See:
/usr/doc/prey.README.Debian

This is a service that runs in the background and is configured by editing its config file, not a GUI program.
I don't seem to have a /usr/doc folder.
