Thanks for the answers. That's great news.
I believe that this thread deals with the issue of suspend:

2 questions about live-usb: suspend & hd life

1) If I suspend using a live-usb, will the computer's hard drive also suspend? 2) Also, will exclusively using a live-usb extend the life of an old hard drive? I have MX installed on an old computer, and it works great as is. But I'm so impressed using the live-usb on it, that I'm curious about thes...

Re: Home size on persistent live usb

So much thanks to BitJam for his hard work on my problem. A script he wrote for me created the live-usb-storage that I was missing.
And as Dolphin_Oracle said, it truly is a bonus. Very nice.
Thanks again for the incredible support. :number1:

Re: Home size on persistent live usb

I chose the "dostore" option. Still doesn't show up in home. Re: Home size on persistent live usb

Redacted, please try again. I just booted from live-usb created from a snapshot of mine, (was MX-17 fully updated to MX-18) and it works as described. I'm quite sure I've done something wrong somewhere, because it definitely isn't there. I will redo the whole process tomorrow or Monday. Thanks, fig...

Re: Home size on persistent live usb

Did you make the live-usb with one of our live-usb-maker programs? IIRC, MX starts you out in the ~/Desktop/ directory (which I find confusing). An "ls ~" should show you a Live-usb-storage/ directory in your home directory. I made a snapshot of my installed system with mx snapshot and made the liv...

Re: Home size on persistent live usb

Well I did something wrong. I'm in the live usb now, and there's no Live-USB-Storage folder. Or at least, I can't find it.

Home size on persistent live usb [SOLVED]

I want to use a 1TB external usb drive for live static persistence.
I'd like the home section to be only limited by the size of the drive (for videos, books, etc.)
The text menu when you first start the live usb offers several sizes, but how to I make it unlimited?
TIA.

Point and click is the modern way.
Strongly disagree.
Point and click is merely one way. Much more popular, yes. But still only one way.
