If you right-click in the select file window you should get the option to show hidden files
That did the trick - skins tried.

:number1:

It would be useful if the location of the VLC skins was set when they are downloaded by MXPI.

Re: Audacious Media Player - outdated package (3 years old)

Uh, check the date on that, I think. You're right  I assumed that release 3.3 would be more recent than 3.10.1 - numbering schemes generally do a simple increment, and this would result in v3.9 moving on to v4. Audacious confused things by going from v3.9 to v3.10 - I didn't realise this. I'll...

Audacious 3.3 released https://audacious-media-player.org/news/16-audacious-3-3-released Audacious now saves the current position within a song when you start playing a different playlist. To resume from where you left off in a playlist, simply double-click on the tab for that playlist. Various impr...

Re: VLC skins plugin

~/.local/share/vlc is where I find the skins2 folder, installed via Synaptic I think. A belated thanks for the info. I couldn't get VLC to choose the skin because the select file window that appeared didn't show hidden files. Anyway, I'm not concerned about it as I'm happy with the default skin.

VLC skins plugin

I have just downloaded vlc-plugin-skins2 from the stable repo using MXPI. I then opened VLC preferences and on the interface settings selected "use custom skin". The problem is it is now asking me where the skins are located, and I haven't got a clue. I can see this happening to a lot of people, so ...

Re: VLC missing - didn't uninstalled it

I expectantly had a look at my history, and when I did there was nothing there.

I then remembered that I ran MX cleanup earlier today :duh:

I am assuming this cleans out the update history. If this is the case could it skip this file as it can be useful in problem solving.
