And with that I have Brave installed without problem.
Did you install this in MX-17 or MX-18, please?

Function Keys & Bluetooth

I'm having trouble getting Bluetooth to work on my ThinkPad W520. After some Searching I read that the "Fn F5" key combo is supposed to toggle Bluetooth on. That function/special key combo is ignored in MX-17. I came up upon this but am unclear what would work in MX-17 ... https://unix.stackexchange...

Re: System File Integrity & Debsums

I run the updates as they show up - is the change from 4.14 to 4.19 a special process?

I have another W520.

I'll load 18.1 on it then transfer my data.

That will make for a clean start.

System File Integrity & Debsums

I'm having a lagging problem and a windows guy (another forum) suggested sfc /scannow I Searched and learned that demsums -s and debsums -sa should generate the same output in Linux. I loaded debsums via the MX Installer. When I ran it the output generated was 100's of files labeled "missing". Since...

Firefox Lagging

Task manager seems to indicate that Firefox is triggering the lag when the yellow banner asks "Stop" or "Wait"

Re: Protecting SSD - Symlinking to HDD [SOLVED]

Mostly solved so I'm letting this go ... way too much time wasted on what should be simple. Instructions are convoluted and missing steps - thrashed around and stumbled into restoring Thunderbird. Gave up on restoring Firefox history & passwords. I have no idea why there isn't a script/app for this:...

Re: Protecting SSD - Symlinking to HDD

OK, I changed file ownership and permissions. I can open Firefox and Thunderbird - but neither is picking up important folders and files. Firefox is not seeing History. Thunderbird displays the accounts but none of the sub-folders nor the saved emails. Focusing on Thunderbird for the moment ... In t...

Re: Protecting SSD - Symlinking to HDD

I just did a Manual Install rather than Auto & saw that I could choose the location of /home Cool re. the Permissions changes ... I wasn't sure if manual Permissions changes was the right way to go. I was just going to ask ... http://nevils-station.com/images/misc1/27feb19-mdcpc14.jpg Thanks to all!
