Re: Video horizontal flickering/tearing - XFCE only

Problem solved! For my Intel graphics, I simply created a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf file, and entered the following in it... Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "sna" Option "TearFree" "true" EndSection Then that example video played perfectly sm...

Video horizontal flickering/tearing - XFCE only

With a lot of online video I'm experiencing horizontal flickering. I guess this is considered tearing, though I haven't noticed graphics tearing otherwise, only video 'flickering'. As I installed MX17 a month ago on a new (to me) PC I thought it might be my hardware or graphics card, but a week ago ...

Re: LibreOffice 6

I updated to LO 6 via the Debian Buster repo.I don't mind because I don't have a scanner, but gscan2pdf was removed.

Re: MX-17 Repository: The Sylpheed thread

Can we get Sylpheed 3.7? Stable was just released. 3.6 is in Debian testing, but I doubt they will have 3.7 any time soon.

Re: No audio on HDMI

I am new to MX-17 having come over from Ubuntu. The install appeared to go fine and all was well until I plugged in my home theater via the HDMI port on my Intel NUC. (This was working under Ubuntu). There was video, but no audio. Then I remembered that I needed to switch from "built in analog audi...

Pix (Mint Xapp)

Forget it, I was able to install Pix from the Mint repos fine. I assumed it would have to be repackaged for MX17, as it did for MX16.

Re: MX-17 Repository: The Sylpheed thread

Appreciate having it in MX, but Sylpheed 3.6 is already in Debian testing. Can we get 3.7beta that was just released in MX Testing? http://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/en/news.html. Its addition of exporting csv contacts would come in handy for me, as I haven't yet moved my mail and contacts from MX 16 to 17 ...

Re: Site describing MX as a 'product'?

I know it's it's just one instance of one word ...and in a menu, never in any text on the site. A MX Linux is indeed a project, a status that IMO is not about to be impugned by a single top menu entry. Yes, if I'm going to talk about semantic clarity I shouldn't have posted that with the menu entry...

Did you see the mother page? http://snapshot.debian.org/package/gnome-calculator/
I'll check out 3.11.90 and others when I'm home from work in two hours. There are no versions between 3.10.2 and that.

Re: Site describing MX as a 'product'?

That's exactly why GNU/Linux distros aren't products. A distro as I said is not a tangible finished thing, or made at a cost and with a value to be exchanged for. Even if you mean it in the looser, immaterial and at least possibly non-commercial sense, using it implies that the focus of MX is on an...
