Re: My thoughts on KDE
...Regarding theWord app - is that the Windows version running on wine? Or is there a Linux version floating around somewhere? It would have to be the Windnoise version on Wine. I find, though it needs alot of customizing, it functions way better the e-Sword. https://i.postimg.cc/L5rg23KW/Screensho...

Re: [QUESTION] Joplin [latest] not working on Debian based distros
Also see https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=556811#p556811 down near the end where fehlix mentions several kernels that someone else's appimage needed for it to run. @JayM Salamat Po ! Thanks for your assistance! That fixed my problem. I didn't feel good about the mod they were listing eithe...

[SOLVED] Joplin [latest] not working on Debian based distros
I have grown dependant on Joplin ( https://github.com/laurent22/joplin ) to store and organize information and files on MX18, and now on MX19. However after updating to the latest Joplin (attempted both on MX18,19) via the install/update script (their script installs their latest Appimage ) that the...

Re: Writers - what tools / techniques do you use to write?
I'm finally allowing myself to start writing after wanting to for decades. Congratulations. I've been writing for over twenty years, and managed to finish a few novels, and it's always a rush when you realize you know the characters well enough to let them move the story along instead of having the...

Re: Pachage Request - Hledger - newer version
...So might there be a chance for updating hledger now? Stable version of hledger is presently at 1.14.
Hoping at least for pkgs: hledger, hledger-ui, hledger-web to be upgraded.
Thank you.

Re: Writers - what tools / techniques do you use to write?
So far I've settled on Freeplane . I'm definitely a very visual, nonlinear thinker. So it's working great. It ticks the boxes concerning my want for multiple export capabilities (don' t want any dead end roads). I'm especially happy with its capability of exporting all/some nodes with their notes to...

Re: Writers - what tools / techniques do you use to write?
Thanks for your insights! It ALL helps!
My initial motivation for posting OP is -- If I'm going to get stuck in a rut (choice of writing tools/procedures) I want to get stuck in the best rut for me. And you all have helped.
I' ll keep checking back for more...

Well, I meant to get back sooner but my main character fell and broke her ankle while traversing a mountain pass, and I -- I had to call in an air ambulance -- they took forever, and... (Sure. Sure you did. Oh, you poor dear.) Been lurking on my own thread and want to say thanks to everyo...

Writers - what tools / techniques do you use to write?
Thanks to all on this thread https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=47606&start=110 for helping me, just a little bit more, to step off the precipice... I'm finally allowing myself to start writing after wanting to for decades. I'm starting from, I guess you could say, ground zero (or...
