Re: MX 17/18 Repository: The Liquorix Kernel Thread

Dear Stevo,

Thanks for letting me know about this particular Liquorix thread. I'll be following this one as well as the older one.

Re: Great, more pressure to get MX 18 out!

I certainly do not want to fight! I have tried Manjaro and, after the system "crashed" on three different computers at three different times, I shall not try it again. I do use Antergos (which I like very much - I've used it for over two years on one of my computers [an Alienware AW17R3] a...

Re: Great, more pressure to get MX 18 out!

Personally, as it will be used through most, if not all, of 2019, perhaps it should be called MX 19. I really do WISH that there could be a variant, a la SparkyLinux, of a rolling release version based completely on Debian Testing. In my opinion, MX Linux is, by far, the finest GNU/Linux distributio...

Re: Suggestions for Future Versions

Yes...don't know where the month or so time frame is coming from, though. The next major release bump will be a Debian Buster-based version, and that will be some time after Buster is released---not in the near future. It's been possible to update MX in-place for lesser releases that were still bas...

Re: Suggestions for Future Versions

P.S. Can someone address the suggestion, in my original post, that the developers look to see if some way can be found to add newer, later Debian repositories when new Debian versions are introduced such that MX Linux could be turned into a quasi-rolling release type of operating system? If that co...

Re: Suggestions for Future Versions

Well, I have read the latest responses to my original post and I must say to those who do not like Calamares that I DO like it. I find it to be very logical and easy to use, and, at least for me, it works perfectly in all situations (including UEFI and Secure Boot enabled, just UEFI enabled, and, of...

Re: Suggestions for Future Versions

Dear Jerry3904, Stevo, anticapitalista, and Paul, Thank you all for your replies to me. 1) To Jerry3904: First let me explain that I have tried, at least a half-dozen times, to install MX Linux to the two gaming computers I mention below. The MX Linux installer is not flexible enough in my estimatio...

Suggestions for Future Versions

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen: I am not a "computer geek,' just an ordinary computer user who, having found MX Linux a year or so ago, has been using it on some of my computers (my wife and I have quite a few computers as these things tend to accumulate). Unfortunately we cannot use it on all of ou...
