Re: Nvidia Driver Installer command failed(SOLVED)

DO, I have searched for ddm-mx and it is not (on my system) in the usr/bin location you described. I tried to install it using sudo apt-get install ddm-mx and no joy. I run Synaptic and searched for it to no avail.

Re: Nvidia Driver Installer command failed

Dolphin, just as an aside, when I myself run that command either in user or su mode I get .... bash: nvidia-detect-mx: command not found.

Re: Nvidia Driver Installer command failed

Re: Nvidia Driver Installer command failed

Hello new2linux, If you have installed mx16 through the usual route and you didn't (perhaps you overlooked it in the MX Tools application) run the NVidia installer, I would suggest you first do from the command line inxi-G. That (should) show you what Gfx card etc that you currently have implemented...

Re: Best Antivirus/malware/spyware for MX?

This post is an update to the original message I wrote. I originally wrote that rkhunter had found a possible windigo rootkit on my triple booted system in the Mint distro. I correct that here because it was in fact chkrootkit and not rkhunter that flagged the possible infection. In any event, after...

Re: Code to delete cache

Thanks skidoo for posting/re posting? those warnings. Yes, you are correct in that BB does offer the user check boxes and for me that has meant that one can start out steadily using it and add more check boxes as one sees fit or feels comfortable with. The 'oops' functionality you mentioned as lacki...

Re: Code to delete cache

Could someone please advise what code to use in Terminal to delete all cache on computer. Thanks! You might try using bleachbit. It does a pretty good job of deleting such cache's IMO. Others have posted in this board about the need for caution in using bleachbit and the ilk however, provided you g...

ANGRYsearch is available in the repo (test repo I think it is). It's pretty useful.

Re: xfce4-power-manager 'presentation mode' configuration

I started using the caffeine method following a similar mention of issues and Dolphin assisted with his then recommendation and its worked ok. However, occasionally and for no apparent reason, I also get a pop up of the control panel. It's not regular or consistent enough however, to cause me more t...

Re: NTFS - Does anyone got any ideas on what could be going wrong, and how to avoid it.

You have described that you have usually copied the Linux file onto an usb which then was (after a reboot and you went into Windows?) attempted to be accessed by the Windows platform. Assuming I have read that correctly, have you ever simply tried to mount the Windows HDD in Thunar? Again, I may be ...
