Re: fonts LibreOffice (Solved - sort of)

Convert the PFB files to OTF. Install fontforge and use the following script: #!/usr/bin/fontforge Open($1); Reencode("unicode"); Generate($fontname+".otf"); Quit(0); Script credit: jeromejaglale.com (more specific directions at site) The OTF format was designed in collaboration ...

Re: Clear sans fonts [Solved]

Clear Sans can be installed using the package texlive-fonts-extra . There are a hell of a lot of other interesting fonts in there but be prepared to use 600MB. This texlive package (like all texlive packages) is built from the CTAN archives . When I want a single font, I go there for specific zip fi...

Re: Site describing MX as a 'product'?

I know it's it's just one instance of one word, it's not so paramount, I guess it's my left-wing sensibilities that make it annoying for me. If you frame it a little more to the (Marxist) left, you can distinguish between commodities and products . Commodities are products offered for sale on the m...

Re: antiX-17-b1-full available for public testing

Selecting "America/Phoenix" as the time zone during installation does not work; zone remains "America/New York" on newly installed system. Easily corrected using "dpkg-reconfigure tzdata".

Re: SD card reader doesn't work (MX-16 on DELL Latitude 3150)

Since you have a working set of rmmod and modprobe commands, you can use /etc/modprobe.d configuration to automatically blacklist the removed modules and add the probed modules at boot. Arch (as usual) provides excellent documentation for configuring Kernel Modules.

Re: How many of you need a 32 bit distro?

Atom (pre-64 bit): two netbooks, two thin clients
64-bit capable AMD, but soldered 1GB mem/not upgradeable: thin client
Pentium M: IBM t43

The t43 and limited mem AMD machines could be retired, but the Atom thin clients run 24/7 desktop systems.

Re: Simplified man pages

While examples are sorely needed to illustrate the simple use cases of difficult commands like find , awk , or grep , or commands overloaded with options like chown or chmod , I am disappointed with the implementation and conceptualization. Some of the simple pages are not significantly different th...
