Re: MX 15 Community Repository: The Thunderbird Thread

Hi, I'm trying to get Hebrew spellchecking in TB 52, but attempting to install thunderbird-l10n-he I get this response: Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have n...

Re: Booting fails after installing updates this morning

I think I am in a mixed state up upgrade now. Reading through the "Migrating from MX15 to MX16" thread, I now have LibreOffice 5, my MX Tools and MX Package Installer show version 16.11mx16+4 and 16.11mx16+1 respectively, but there is no MIGRATION option in MX Package Installer. I suppose I should ...

Cool.

Re: MX-16 public-beta1 available for testing.

I think that the pseudo transparent xfce4-terminal looks like a bug. If compositing is turned off by default (which I think is the right choice) we can't use transparencies as default.

Re: MX-16 public-beta1 available for testing.

I've discovered the same sound problem I had with MX 15: arbitrarily setting itself to 100%. I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't remember how we fixed it last time, nor do I seem to have anything in my notes on this. I've run pavucontrol. I think this will solve your problem. I think it should be...

Re: MX-16 public-beta1 available for testing.

For old machines, how hard is it to switch to another icon theme? We include quite a few in MX 16. We could add that somewhere in the manual, or just list that as a known issue. It's not hard, especially if you're an Xfce veteran, but I'm thinking about the out-of-the-box experience of users. I thi...

Re: MX-16 public-beta1 available for testing.

during the installation installing grub took a REALLY long time (twenty minutes or more) It takes me less than that to install the entire thing... I guess something went wrong, grub-install doesn't really do much it runs grub-install, grub-update, and update-initramfs the last one probably takes a ...

Re: MX-16 public-beta1 available for testing.

I just installed Mx-16 beta on an old netbook I've got, and during the installation installing grub took a REALLY long time (twenty minutes or more). As the installation has no real progress indicator it's really easy to assume that the installation has hanged... Other than that, as was noticed in a...

Re: Whisker menu is a bit slow

Ok, I think I was wrong.

After playing a bit more with the system Papirus seems much slower in some instances. For example in the "Add new items to panel" menu, it is really slow and laggy when you scroll through it.
