Re: Annoying Problem With Mouse cursor in Xfce (Mx Linux)

I had similar to this happen with XFCE a couple of years ago on another distro. The mouse cursor would revert to default within different program's windows (only some not all) & even just mousing over their window buttons it would change. I found the following stopped it at the time: Just before a r...

Re: Weird DNS/Browser/Website Issue

Interesting, never thought of trying that, thanks Chris. If I go to the main site using a free proxy it loads but without any images, then if I then click a link to one of the other pages there I get this error, regardless of what DNS I use: ProxFree Error! The requested resource could not be loaded...

Weird DNS/Browser/Website Issue

Hello All, Having an issue with a single website and DNS servers for some reason. It's only the one site that I know of, has been happening for several days now & today I decided to try & find the cause. It appears that the site (www.bom.gov.au) will not load unless I use OpenDNS's servers for my IP...

Re: VLC GUI Display

The huge advantage of using it the way you suggest, tho, is that it would hopefully only affect VLC and not mess with other QT apps that may be presenting an interface you like. So, it might be worth it to say... add it to your profile instead, if setting the environment works ok. If that worked, t...

Re: VLC GUI Display

Got 3.0.3-1 installed finally. Removed all VLC entries via Synaptic, ran Bleachbit as root for a cleanup, removed all .deb's etc. Changed from the NZ repo to the Utah repo as I noticed this below with the NZ repo, though not sure if it was causing the problem or not. Err:11 http://mx.debian.nz/mx/te...

Re: VLC GUI Display

Ok, had another play with it & it still won't install 3.0.3. Firstly I updated MX with a dist-upgrade & only update available was MXPI. Then opened MXPI clicked on Full App Catalog, used the search for vlc, results showed 3.0.2-0 installed, checked all the greyed out vlc entries and then clicked uni...

Re: VLC GUI Display

I might call it a night I think, getting on towards 3:00 am Tuesday morning here in the Land Down Under. When I get some more free time I'll run through all the steps again, this time logging out & back in again between the steps. Thanks for your help so far, have a good one & I'll catch up later :t...

Re: VLC GUI Display

Not sure it likes me the MXPI, doesn't seem to want to install that version, all I can seem to get is 3.02. Followed the steps, checked all the 3.03 entries, clicked install, noticed while it was installing it was only getting 3.02 again. After that finished in the Full App Catalog listing for VLC i...

Re: VLC GUI Display

Getting closer...maybe, only these 2 now stopping it.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libvlccore9 : Breaks: vlc (< 1:2.2.4-dmo6~) but 3.0.2-0+deb9u1 is to be installed
vlc-bin : Depends: libvlc-bin (= 3.0.2-0+deb9u1) but it is not going to be installed

Re: VLC GUI Display

Unmet dependancies apparently. This is what happens after opening MXPI, clicking on Full App Catalog, clicking MX Test Repo button, scrolling down to VLC, checking it then clicking the Install button.
