Re: with MX, I never go distro hopping

When I switched from using Windows to Linux back in September 2015 I started with openSUSE which was nice but then went looking to see if there was a distro I liked better which resulted into trying a distro that I can't say which one without violating the forum rules. I then looked for another dist...

Re: Driver=free/nonfree

what driver does it change? the only non-free driver mx ships with is broadcom-sta (the "wl" driver). We use an auto-detect script to pick the broadcom driver to use. So parts that can use wl will use that, and parts that can't will fall back to the open source drivers if possible. I know what the ...

Re: Google earth pro looks very ugly

travis82, I concur. Google Earth is ugly as home made lye soap. It doesn't render fonts correctly especially when a high DPI is set so you can use the computer without a magnifying glass. This is a Google problem and not a MX Linux problem. I found issues with a few programs that are poorly written ...

I stopped using Firefox when they introduced that nonsense that stopped most add ons working. Waterfox is in the repos and is just like the old style Firefox.
I don't see it in the MX repo. Where is Waterfox?

Firefox-60.0 is the freeze and crash version. I hope they fix it.

Re: MX for Beginners

I came from using Windows back in Sept. 2015. While I like Linux a lot better than Windows there is one thing that the Linux community does very poorly is pushing the use of the command line onto others and making fun of people who despise the command line or who can't understand it. I never experie...

Re: Screen Tearing Back After Firefox Update

Firefox has been freezing and crashing ever since the MX update on May 9. No screen tearing. Today it seems better but not as good as before.
