Re: Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

As already mentioned: The current one may stay there and you can assign a new key(s) for the same command and use that . (Or just use the other working Ctrl). Say: Command: xkill And it says "Now Press your keys" : Alt + X (or whatever you like) I went to the store just now and purchased ...

Re: Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

[ Your reaching is good because you might be onto something. "Are one of those keys dead?" Since I don't use keyboard shortcuts I don't know the answer to that question. If I hit only Ctrl nothing happens, if I hit only Alt I get a response, if I hit Esc I get no response. Is there a way ...

Re: Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

Yes, there are many ways to test. Simply copy something (say this sentence) with Ctrl + C then paste to somewhere .. Next time use the other Ctrl key. Probably one is not pressing (working). (Or in a terminal issue xev then press it , then the other one, observe if it senses it/them ) Thanks. It se...

I don't know because I could never figure out how to use the terminal and I am going all the way back to 1981. I have had many bad experience with the terminal. How do I do that?

Re: Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

I'm stating the obvious, but…. Is " Ctrl + Alt + Esc" listed as the shortcut? Obviously, if not, re-enter it as the command. Could you have overridden it by using it for another Keyboard → Application Shortcuts recently? Or Window Manager → Keyboard → Shortcut? Recently. Maybe delete it f...

Re: Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

I see it in Settings > Keyboard and when I check in Edit in the Command box it says xkill. I don't know anything about it's path. When I hit Ctrl + Alt + Esc on the keyboard it does absolutely nothing. No response what so ever.

Xkill doesn't work. [Solved]

I just noticed that Xkill doesn't work. When I hit Ctrl + Alt + Esc I get no response. I have not changed any of the settings for Xkill. Does anyone know the fix for it? I concur. In my and my friends experiences with HP printers we found them to be always the best and now have become the worst. How HP stays in business and hasn't gone bankrupt is beyond me.
