I meant the MX system login.

Oh, O.K. I don't use auto login. I have MX Linux set up so I must enter my password.

Re: keyring prompt

I'm seeing some scuttlebut elsewhere on the web about this keyring thing with chrome/chromium. What some folks are saying is that the prompt gets triggered if you are using autologin. I don't know about that, so I thought I would ask here if anyone is using autologin. I am not using any login. Goog...

Re: keyring prompt

gnome-keyring is there because wifi password prompts in network-manager do not work without it (in other words, when you select a network, it never asks for a password). if you are OK with the connection editor dialog (via "Network-Connections in the menu), then gnome-keyring can be removed. otherw...

Re: keyring prompt

This key ring nonsense is a bug. Every time I open Chromium the key ring bug pops up. I click cancel and it pops up quickly. Only the second click cancels it. I tried about:config and it doesn't work as the window to change settings won't open up. How can I get rid of this annoyance?

Re: Brother MFC-J480DW printer scans OK, but will not print.

I have recently installed MX-17 on a separate HD in my Desktop tower. I then updated and installed the three Linux printer files from Brother for my printer. On another HD, I have installed Linux Mint 19. Both distros have the same printer drivers and scan file installed. The Brother printer works ...

Re: Bryan Lunduke is excited about Purism's Linux cell phone

That's easier. Get yourself a phone whose bootloader can be unlocked (I have used Samsungs and Moto Gs so far but there are others) and for which there's a recent lineage OS custom ROM (there are versions w/o any of the standard Google apps). Install a decent recovery (say TWRP]. Backup the current...

Re: Bryan Lunduke is excited about Purism's Linux cell phone

It's way too expensive. I wish a true GNU/Linux Stupid Phone distro would come out that installs using a G.U.I. installer as easy as MX Linux that has no Spyware, no data collection, no Spamazon, no Malware, and no Microsoft involvement. Something that works as well as MX Linux. I can't stand this G...
