OK. I changed it to: PS1="\u@\h \w> " (better for me)
Thanks.

[Solved] xfce4-terninal prompt
I've just come back to MX after time spent in debian and devuan. Upon setting things up, I note that the xfce4 terminal has been customized to show the prompt on two lines instead of one. That is, instead of rocket@office:~$ it shows rocket@office:~ $ How would one reset this to the more standard se...

SOLVED: Conky Mystery - Full Distro Name
Yes, Jerry3904, that is the terminal command I sought. Based on that I can use following in my .conkyrc and my problem is solved: ${alignr}${exec cat /etc/mx-version | cut -c 1-5,10-20}
Thanks very much.

SOLVED: Conky Mystery - Full Distro Name
I like to display my own conky, so I have uninstalled all the MX conky stuff and just left the conky-all package so I can default to my own .conkyrc configuration. All works well except that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to display the pretty distro name (something like MX-Linux 19, pat...

Re: (Solved) Xfce Panel Fails to Start
I would purge out the saved sessions, and make sure the panel is running, and manually save a new session (Session & Startup settings have these options to clear and manually save sessions). then don't automatically save at shutdown until you get it working. This did the trick. Cleared the old ...

Re: Xfce Panel Fails to Start (Solved)
Sounds like you didn't actually succeed in creating the panel. A right click on your desktop should give you access to Applications >>> Terminal. In terminal, paste: xfce4-panel --preferences Which will allow you to create a new panel. Thanks for the suggestion, but the panel is created.

Xfce Panel Fails to Start (Solved)
After a fresh install of 18.2, the Xfce panel fails to automatically start upon logging in or restarting. This, despite the fact that in Session & Startup the automatically save session on logout option is set. Fortunately, there is a prompt to start it upon restarting, but it is a glitch I woul...

OK. Thank-you.Stevo wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 3:04 pm The gnome-games flatpak is supposed to provide gnome-hearts on all the newer distros, so experimenting on those would help provide an answer. I don't think they have as easy a flatpak installer as MX, though. I didn't check to see if there are any snap packages.

Re: Gnome-Hearts (Solved)
Stevo, asqwerth, and all others who commented, thanks for the discussion/information. I understand the situation now. I will go back to MX for now so my wife can enjoy the game a little longer, and will await the possible resolution of this issue in future versions of debian/mx/buntu, or maybe even ...
