Re: Keeps failing to connect to wifi

mx had firmware-realtek already installed, ie. had rtl8723de driver included (my eyesight is bad, mistook 'de' for 'be'). Having the "right" driver and firmware doesn't guarantee it will work. I had a particularly uncooperative rtl8192eu chip that would only work with one specific modified driver f...

Re: World Cup 2018

I hear ya, malspa. Comments on game play are very generic and the same lines are repeated over and over in every game. At least some of the info on players and history can be interesting.

There was an issue in 61.0-1 with dictionaries not working. Fixed in 61.0-2 . Hopefully you worked around that one.

Re: Keeps failing to connect to wifi

It would help if you mentioned which drivers you installed and how you installed.
Also details of your wifi card which you can get with

Re: Has any one tried a HP 745 G3 AMD laptop for MX 17?

NOTE : This was the first and only time ever, that I felt compelled to adjust the DPI on a Linux installation. Welcome to 2018. Hi-dpi will become much more common. I have 2 4K monitors and both Xfce and Plasma 5 handle them quite well with only minor initial config and occasional application tweaks.

Perhaps a better idea would be to have an MX experimental repo and move to testing after a short period if no bugs are found.

Re: Conky Helps and Stuff

Thanks asqwerth. I just spent the last half hour trying to get this happening and ended up with this: ${exec lscpu |grep "Model name:" |awk -F : '{ print $2}' |sed 's/(R)//g;s/(TM)//g;s/CPU //g'} It shows Intel Core2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz It removes the annoying (R) and (TM), and also shows the cpu mo...

Re: Conky Helps and Stuff

Damn you guys, got me sucked into playing with Conky again. Got wttr.in showing now. On a side note, I tried to get CPU to show by calling inxi. Not sure if it's easier than lscpu but output is tidy. The command pipe works in terminal but wouldn't work with exec in Conky. Any ideas? Here is ...
