HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF Looking for a Linux Friendly Graphics Card.

I'm thinking about buying a graphics card for my computer. It seems that the onboard graphics are kinda of a headache. I need to be able to use both MPV player and VLC player. Currently I'm running Linux Mint 21, but I still have MX Linux on another drive. I'm not devoted to any particular linux dis...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

History: Back when I was using PCLinuxOS on this hardware, I noticed that the USB dropped that exFat drive. But it didn't seem to be as often as I saw MX Linux do it. Since I run Linux Mint on my main computer, as well as two other computers (currently) I decided to test it on a Linux Mint. Even und...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

is this a usb device or some kind of dock? It's a hard drive usb case. I just switched to a different name brand case to see if it works better. Strange thing is, I'm not having any trouble with the case on my other computers. So there might be some compatibly issue between the case and the hardwar...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

It does allow me to umount and re mount in Thunar. But I noticed it dropped the drive and then remounted it again. Not sure why it remounts automatically. Suggest to disable "Automount" within "Removable Media" settings. removable-media.jpg I could do that, but this is the way I...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

I ran that command and it does seem to mount now. But I received a notification 3 times. Saying it mounted automatically. Now 4 times? May be you have some more exfat partions. As I'm not a big fan of "automounting" and mountin popups, B/c a single click in Thunar would mount anyway Does ...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

OK, ISTM, something is mssing with the postinstall of exfat-fuse. Try this to fix: Open terminal as normal user and run this sudo ln -s mount.exfat-fuse /sbin/mount.exfat This command will create a symlink "/sbin/mount.exfat" within /sbin ( which is the same as /usr/sbin) pointing to moun...

Re: exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

I searched the web for exfat unknown file system debian and found the solution. You need to install exfat-fuse. The kernels which do come with MX-21 do normally support exfat ootb. Maybe OP uses another kernel (4.x?) w/o exfat support or something else. So yes, for older kernels exfat-fuse may help...

[SOLVED] exfat External Hard Drive Won't Mount

I plugged in a USB hard drive, that is formatted to exfat. I was greeted with a message that says: Failed to mount "exFAT". Error mounting /dev/sdc1 at /media/family/exFAT: unknown filesystem type 'exfat'. I unplugged the USB hard drive, and plugged it into my linux mint machine. Moved the...

Re: ctrl+shift+v Doesn't Work

I use the key combination ctrl+shift+v a lot. I use it when I paste a command in the terminal. I use it when I paste text into libreoffice writer. That is when I don't want the text to be formatted. But here on MX Linux 21 XFCE, ctrl+shift+v doesn't work at all. I tried it in the terminal, and it w...
