Re: Is it a good idea to use the latest version of Plasma?
There are good reasons to switch to a newer Plasma version. (1) The application launcher on the Plasma in MX21 is very slow: https://i.imgur.com/xFo1MDO.gif The new Kickoff launcher is much faster (without any visible lag on the same machine) (2) The old Plasma in MX21 uses much more memory: https:/...

Re: MX Modified - Latest MX KDE 5.22 Using MX21 beta
Since MX-21 just came out. I have not tried it yet. Go read the first several posts in this thread to make sure you are following the instructions carefully. Remember if you go this route I would not use this as a production machine and if you do back up your files that are important to you. You wi...

Re: MX-21 RC1 feedback (Xfce)
I think the default theme is pretty bad. Both visually (that is of course subjective, as I just don't like this modern flat design), but also ergonomically (which is objective). So let's focus on the ergonomic ones: 1. There seems to only be a 1 px border around the windows at which the cursor chan...

Re: Xfce 4.16 released with new visual identity, fractional scaling, and more
2. Do you get irritated when you use simple-scan and Archive Manager that come default with MX19 XFCE (also gthumb, disk usage analyzer)? I find this in fact very annoying and don't understand why Archive Manager for instance is included with MX at all. It is a GNOME app and as that apparently not ...

iso-snapshot vs mx-snapshot?
Hi there, I was under the impression that the Antix tools and MX tools are identical, but then I realized that the version numbers for e.g. iso-snapshot and mx-snapshot are entirely different. So are the Antix and MX tools different? Is one newer than the other, or are they developing in different d...

Re: MX-19.2 KDE RC 1 Feedback Thread
I now managed to install in a VM, but it is still extremely slow. I might try one more time booting from a USB stick into the live system. If an i7 with 8GB memory is not enough to run this, then KDE is probably not for me :-)

Re: MX-19.2 KDE RC 1 Feedback Thread
Changing the panel position to left in the MX tools seems to crash plasma shell, leaving you with just a cursor.

Re: MX-19.2 KDE RC 1 Feedback Thread
I now tried to install it in a VM, but installation fails at the very end with "Sorry, failed to create user directory!".
