Re: MX Modified - KDE 5.20.5 on MX (UNSUPPORTED - extremely experimental)
I haven't decided by now (mostly due to some changes coming up personally) - I plan to work in the Debian Qt/KDE Team towards updates of KDE/Plasma. In particular, new versions of plasma (5.21) will got to experimental - After bullseye release I plan to add the new stable (bullseye) to the OBS repo...

Re: Which Remote Desktop Software you like the best on MX?
I'm using x2go for 3 years. How do you have solved to issue connecting remotely over the internet to the remote client behind a firewall with regularly IP-address changes. As those secure ssh-tunnel cannot initiated without either open the firewall and in addition knowing the IP in advance. :puppy:...

Re: Which Remote Desktop Software you like the best on MX?
I'm using x2go for 3 years. Unlike teamviewer or anydesk it's open-source. Also can create parallel session so I can work on GUI without occupying owner's time. Some flaws: - Shared clipboard still doesn't work for me with "connection to local desktop" - Only one keyboard setting which may...

Re: Compton Compositor
+1 for this.
I'd like to check if this bug (Video Freeze , audio continues on media players) is fixed.
Some distros (Arch, Void, Nix) already packaged version 0.4 while Debian still has this bugreport.

Re: Formatting USB drive
We just could redefine by a simple changing of an option within a polikit-rule, that a user would not need to enter a password for USB-formating. I wouldn't recommend this. Here's a scenario: Father sits at his computer showing his son how to use MX Linux. Phone rings. Father leaves room. Son decid...

Re: Formatting USB drive
Judging from errors I recently had (broken USB, not by gnome-disk-utility) it uses internally standard "mkfs.something" utils. When did you guys used it?

Re: Formatting USB drive
I think GNOME Disks currently is the best because it's simple to use & doesn't recuire password. sudo apt install -y gnome-disk-utility IMO, there's no need to make yet another tool just for this task (like Mint does) unless it's something integrated (Thunar plugin or option in some other MX too...

Re: [Tutorial] Make your Linux USB write-able
Or just use our live-usb-maker tool if using linux. +1. Works perfectly for me, too. Perhaps I'm not understanding the problem. The problem is when you writing image using dd (as Manual suggests) or Etcher. It's a classic universal method across distros. line for the 32 bit kernels: dd bs=4M if=MX-...

Re: MX Linux with XanMod LTS Kernel
Images are broken. I'm afraid that Xan's 4.9 series is abandoned but if you're ok with 4.9.90-xanmod88, you can safely remove current MX default kernel. Launch Synaptic and remove "linux-image-4.15.0-1-amd64", close Synaptic. Then install "Debian 64 Bit" using MX Package Installe...

Re: MX Linux with XanMod LTS Kernel
Also it's safe to use if you don't need DKMS drivers (NVidia, Broadcom, VirtualBox). Otherwise they may fail to compile as Xan uses latest GCC (for better performance).
