Re: Which Remote Desktop Software you like the best on MX?

I'm using x2go for 3 years. How do you have solved to issue connecting remotely over the internet to the remote client behind a firewall with regularly IP-address changes. As those secure ssh-tunnel cannot initiated without either open the firewall and in addition knowing the IP in advance. :puppy:...

Re: Which Remote Desktop Software you like the best on MX?

I'm using x2go for 3 years. Unlike teamviewer or anydesk it's open-source. Also can create parallel session so I can work on GUI without occupying owner's time. Some flaws: - Shared clipboard still doesn't work for me with "connection to local desktop" - Only one keyboard setting which may force loc...

Re: Compton Compositor

+1 for this.
I'd like to check if this bug (Video Freeze , audio continues on media players) is fixed.
Some distros (Arch, Void, Nix) already packaged version 0.4 while Debian still has this bugreport.

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Beware of this bug ( ext4 file system corruption ) @ kernel 4.19. Looks like it appears mostly with legacy schedulers (noop, deadline, cfq, bfq-sq), blk-mq shcedulers (mq-deadline, bfq, kyber) might be safer to use. Nowadays Debian uses MQ-Deadline (default for non-NVMe if CONFIG_SCSI_MQ_DEFAULT=y +...

Re: MX 17 Repository: XFWM 4.13.x

Ok. Here's something to test XFWM 4.13.0-2 built from xfwm4_4.13.0-2 (not sure how long source will stay there) but with enabled/added libepoxy-dev. Proper VSync on MX 17 / Debian 9, xUbuntu 18.04 and possibly 16.04, doesn't require anything special. XFWM 4.13.1-1 Proper VSync on MX 17 / Debian 9, b...

Re: MX 17 Repository: XFWM 4.13.x

No, it works fine with XFCE 4.12. Debian's version doesn't require anything unusual for current MX. Debian's 4.13.0-1 builds as is on Stretch For 4.13.1-1 on both xUbuntu 18.04 & Debian Stretch I installed libxfconf-0-3_4.13.5-1, libxfconf-0-dev_4.13.5-1 & dh-autoreconf_19 (for user only libxfconf-0...

MX 17 Repository: XFWM 4.13.x

Please package Debian's experimental XFWM 4.13.1-1 . It uses XPresent to deal with VSync on supported drivers (kernel's modesetting Intel/AMD) I tried recent xUbuntu packages and even managed to backport this package myself. None of the packages built on xUbuntu 18.04 used XPresent properly and tear...

Re: bimp for batch image processing

Awesome thing about BIMP is that it's future-proof. I'm able to pick new functions or resize interpolations methods.

Re: bimp for batch image processing

BIMP binary from PPA (/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/bimp) should work. Just place it into

Code: Select all

~/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/
For flatpack version of GIMP you also need

Code: Select all

sudo cp '/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpcre.so.3' /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.28/active/files/lib

Re: Realtek RTL8723BE : No scan results

Kernel 4.17.3 (or maybe earlier 4.17.x) fixed my problem with connection. I guess it's worth checking current MX backport of Debian's kernel or Liquorix.
