Re: Can't backport GNOME, but I tried a Cinnamon 3.2 backport

Fresh VM install of MX 16.1. First installed cinnamon-core and then upgraded to the versions available in the test repo, even installed cinnamon-desktop-environment from the test repo, and it did not install icedove or firefox-esr. ;)

Re: MX 15/16 repository: The Kodi Thread

Make sure to run the udpates and you should get the updated MX Package Installer. There you will have the option to search the test repo.

Re: QupZilla 2.1.2 64bit

I avoid anything Google-related like the plague as they tend to be anti-privacy You may find Iridium of interest if you are concerned about Chromium/Googles anti-privacy. There are many browsers out there. Chrome is fast, stable, and user-friendly but does not meet many organizations’ demands for p...

Re: [No action] MX-16: Please update Sylpheed from beta to current stable (3.5.1)

To my knowledge weve never just taken a package from other branches and place them in our repo. The correct way is to backport it by rebuilding it against our Jessie base.

Re: QupZilla 2.1.2 64bit

Keep in mind that just because apps may not be the latest version they are likely still getting security updates from the wonderful Debian Security Team. Also like I said in my earlier post, good luck finding a reasonable alternative to Firefox or Chromium/Chrome. If you do find one I would like to ...

Re: QupZilla 2.1.2 64bit

I cant be certain at the moment, but im guessing that Epiphany is tied to Gnome and that it might be locked at that current version due to the version of GTK in Jessie. Im not much of a fan of the little browsers because they always seem to mostly work, but with quirks. Seems like you are noticing t...

Re: MX-15/16 Repository: The Mesa Thread

* Experimental * mesa_17.1.4 is now available in an experimental repo. Mesa 17.1.4 is a bug-fix release. All the juicy details regarding this release can be found here https://www.mesa3d.org/relnotes/17.1.4.html It would be great to get these newer versions of mesa moved into the testing repo, but ...
