Re: Email programs with MX Linux 17.1 and Linux in General

Seems like it would be easily possible to allow basic html formatting commands (bold, underline, italics) while prohibiting automatic loading of external links, much like for example this forum software does. Without that ability they are limiting outgoing emails to little more than the equivalent o...

Re: Email programs with MX Linux 17.1 and Linux in General

For me the absolute dealbreaker for Claws and Sylpheed is the lack of ability to send HTML format. I don't want to do anything really fancy, but I do want to select fonts, bold, underlining, and italics. A quick review indicates that neither Claws nor Sylpheed can do that natively, but I didn't take...

Re: Package Request: MineTime

Also WAITH, if you are looking around and find another local calendar solution that is free and syncs with CALDAV, please let me know. I am currently also using Nextcloud as my caldav server, to which I sync emclient. I am kind of disappointed in Nextcloud's calendar because it does not have an AGEN...

Re: Package Request: MineTime

Wow that looks like an interesting application and something I need - I am currently using the free version of EMCLOUD in wine for my local caldav-based calendar. (I am not a fan of Thunderbird or Evolution.) FWIW, I took the plunge and downloaded and installed into MX17 -- it installed and seems to...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Kodi Thread

For what it's worth, on my updated MX17 today I installed Kodi from the main part (popular programs) of the MXPI. It installed fine and played audio, but no audio or picture in playing video. I then went to the TEST section and reinstalled kodi. Now it works fine. Noticed that it installed a file wi...

Re: Libre office 6.1

Thank you baldyeti -- I installed from backports and colibre is there. I can't say that I'm 100% sold after installing it, but if I were asking my secretary to use Libreoffice this is pretty clearly the icon theme that has the most "windows-familiar" look.

Re: Libre office 6.1

Any update on putting Libreoffice 6.1 in the test repo? I freely admit to being shallow and never being able to enthusiastically adopt Libreoffice because of my subjective view of its "look" - especially the icons. I see that 6.1 has a new icon design called Colibre. It seems to have some color with...

Re: MX Linux With Lxqt DE

Side comment: I am intrigued by LXQT as well, and will probably keep testing it as spins are developed. One thing holding me back is that I really like the Whisker menu system in XFCE, and I'm not aware of anything equivalent in LXQT, or any way to use Whisker there. As people develop spins I hope t...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Corebird Thread

Stevo I am following the developments at the corebird github site, and the user who prepared the patch has now set up a fork here: https://github.com/lucaswerkmeister/corebird It isn't clear to me that he has made any additional patches, and indeed I am still getting "too many requests" errors that ...

Re: Ranger opps file manager terminal based

Yes and thanks, you're right, I am aware that dolphin does have a preview function, but although I've tried dolphin many times (and probably have it on some of my machines) I have resisted going full KDE-land, probably for the same reason that so many people behind this distro prefer XFCE.
