Re: pet pics

My last "pet" was a pair of these ~~ I got chumped into promising to "find 'em a good home" when kid moved to Florida. The male was 34" long & had an annoying habit of charging, and climbing up my nekked leg like a ima tree trunk, at feeding time. Favorite food, seasonal...

Re: Undervolting tools on MX

Hmm, I've only done undervolting via BIOS settings. I did find some interesting results from websearch "linux undervolting cpu" and discovered there's a lot of interest in undervolting, especially toward achieving the goal of extended battery runtime https://github.com/mihic/linux-intel-un...

Re: MX-17 Live USB unable to create persistence files during boot

Sandisk drives (specifically, "Sandisk Ultra Fit" drives) have been found to be problematic https://github.com/BitJam/live-usb-maker/blob/master/live-usb-maker#L1114 Undocumented... I swore off using "Sandisk Cruzer" due to repeated problems when trying to use 'em as liveboot dev...

exasperated by spaces {giggle} Seriously, though... get the package names you want to remove on one line, exasperated by spaces. then paste all that into the command line prompt. (yeah, although the question was "Is there a quick way?") I would not do that because, almost certainly (based...

Re: Is there RESET Option within MX Linux

As making an iso takes a bit, I actually modified the program to disabled making an iso. Yes! I've wished the snapshot workflow would include ability to choose "just rsync, targeting work_dir" -or- "create an ISO" but haven't previously posted as a suggestion b/c the additional ...

Re: Is there RESET Option within MX Linux

vamsi, you would be well-served by periodically using the MX-snapshot tool to create a backup iso, before experimenting ~~ while the system is in known-good working order. Not "resetter", but a quite similar 'buntu -ish utility named "aptik" was recently added to MX testing repo ...

Re: Need an Usb stick fomatting tool in MX17.

which it currently can do, but also to: 3. format or reformat a live USB to "refresh" it for other purposes that would be great. I think you can run "live-usb-maker partition-clear --from=/dev/device" to do that. Ah, the functionality is already in place, it's just not exposed v...
