Re: Trinity Desktop Spin?

another alternative is: http://exegnulinux.net/ It's Debian -based (devuan, actually). I've booted it & found it to be solid (no crashes, no noticeable memory leaks across a 3 or 4 day session) @bled, would you skim this this page https://github.com/DebianDog/Jessie/wiki/Porteus-boot and comment...

Re: Snapshots

Where is this use all cores setting? Can't find it? Ahhh, right. I must be thinking of one of the other tools which uses squashfs. Also, what I was describing -- a non-permanent (thermal throttling, and) shutdown -- is off-the-mark for the OP. "3 beeps" bios POST code for ?memory error ?v...

Re: woogaloo (beta): GUI for performing hodgepodge system tasks

"woogaloo" is a whittled-down UnlockMe, as is noted in the script's header. ====> stripped of the wget | sudo sh stuff ====> dialogs converted from zenity to yad ====> services -related tasks converted (UnlockMe presumes systemd systemctl is available) It's just an academic exercise, explo...

Re: SystemBack, Something to insta;ll tarballs

heads up: UnlockMe is not suitable for use on MX just by having zenity available "woogaloo" is a whittled-down UnlockMe, as is noted in the script's header. ====> stripped of the wget | sudo sh stuff ====> dialogs converted from zenity to yad ====> services -related tasks converted (Unlock...

http://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=43837 Posted by Stevo » Tue Apr 10, 2018 1:30 pm It seems at least a few people would like a MX MasterTech type of app where we could view systemlogs, adjust swappiness and zram parameters, and other advanced system goodies, like that Mint script t...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The Polo File Manager Thread

those scripts are in the source as a convenience for someone compiling and installing everything from scratch. Although (for MX) the debian/conrol file could be modified to state Depends:rclone, the copy on github does not. The makefile contains no reference to that "for convenience copy"...
