Re: mx-package-manager (new MX app)

Re: MX-16 issue: Common font managers cannot delete fonts

Re: MX-16 issue: Common font managers cannot delete fonts

Unless the fontmanagerapplication is launched using elevated priviledges, inability to delete fonts installed system-wide (/usr/share/fonts) is almost certainly the expected behavior. Consider: "bleachbit" vs "bleachbit (as root)" "terminal" vs "root terminal"...

Re: Permanently set CPU frequency governor to "performance" - good idea or bad idea?

AFAIK, ondemand isn't even available by default, the only choices are "performance" and "powersave" cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors > idea to permanently set the governor to "performance" [..] might be o.k. for the machine. What do y...

Re: Boot problem

No such file or directory fsck.fat Maybe the message is reporting, literally, a missing file? sudo updatedb & sudo locate fsck.fat found /sbin/fsck.fat on my system, so I checked dpkg-query -S /sbin/fsck.fat and the output shows it was installed by "dosfstools" package. AFAICT, dosfst...

Re: live-remaster and mx-snapshot

Re: live-remaster and mx-snapshot

the difference being that the dot files are handled separately. Again I would think that if they're used/needed in one place why not in the other? Above, I mentioned "permutations". Not only do some tools source (merge) multiple exclude lists... a given list may be sourced by various, mul...

Re: Suggestion: add boot parameter to switch persistence save mode

have to remember later that I do not want to save my changes [...] looking for is a boot mode that loads the persistence file but will never write to it. semi-automatic prompts at shutdown, will never write unless you explicitly tell it to do so. The only "added functionality" I had (past...
