Re: xfwm borders theme

I'm posting to encourage further investigation, toward determining whether the Xfce xfwm effective (even if not necessarily visible) grabhandle width is contrained to the specs of the currently selected theme. Via preferences, we can already choose theme-independent: mouse sensititivity, border/titl...

Re: MX18 Continuum (Minimal) Release

Tripped across a discussion elsewhere in my reading today (possibly in the /r/linux reddit topic about "font-manager"?) which reminded me to mention/question here: Are we, collectively, confident that at least ONE of the fontsets pre-installed in this minimalistic project does provide thorough unico...

Re: Oh, snap! Do containerized Mozilla apps violate the licenses?

Re: log file for applications in session startup

Toward comparing/troubleshooting, I was asking which DesktopEnvironment (not distro). "has a startup application unit that allows you to specify a time delay before your program starts." ^---- hopefully (b/c I'm still curious) that description will "ring a bell", will be recognized by someone readin...

Re: MX18 Continuum (Minimal) Release

manyroads, your attention to practicality has produced a good result. angels are singing... That's 270 MB installed for the locales, right? If that's so, you won't gain that much on the ISO, since xz may [..] That's an excellent point, certainly worth mentioning (for the benefit of future re...

Re: Deepin 15.9 released

(after disconecting disconnect the hard drives, and isolating the machine on a subnet) I have even willing livebooted RedStar Linux. Based on it's technical merit, and its remarkably good English translations support, I was favorably impressed. All its network traffic is proxied, routed via NK-contr...

I understand your concern(s) but I don't share them.
FWIW, my own well-considered investigation of Deepin has brought me to sincerely respect their efforts, their project.

Re: log file for applications in session startup

Other than just being fancy because you can, what's the desired outcome? By my way of thinking, running things and immediately minimizing them is a waste of resources and startup time. Sad to hear that "your way of thinking" can't envision a beneficial reason to accomplish the goal Brillo is seekin...
