Re: what'ts your favorite music from you were young?

I've moved through many musical transitions. Early rock & roll. Herman's hermits, the band, ccr, beatles, rolling stones, canned heat, beach boys .. Way to many to mention. I listened to a lot of folk music as well. Never did care for Country & Western. Nowadays I listen to a lot of Folk / Irish / C...

Re: What changes are needed in MX_18.2 & Wine - To get "Garmin Express" working?

Thanks fehlix ..

I'm going to update to 4.9 via mx-testrepo. I seen a comment about a missing file due to a 404 via Archive_org. Yes, the usb thing might be a problem when it comes to recognizing the GPS. I guess I won't know until I try.

Re: What changes are needed in MX_18.2 & Wine - To get "Garmin Express" working?

Type: pack ... I see: GDebi, Cli App based package installer, Synaptic Package Manager, xfpack ..

I don't remember removing it. If I run MX Tools and look under: software - there it is .. Package Installer.
It runs and works fine.

What changes are needed in MX_18.2 & Wine - To get "Garmin Express" working?

I would like to be able to run the updates software (Garmin Express) in Linux and do updates. There is a guide, but I'm not sure it will work in MX-18.2. What do you think? YT - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg01Z6VCox0 https://www.christitus.com/2019/02/15/garmin-express-linux/ I normally run upd...

MXPI not showing old kernel ...

Last time I changed kernel to 4.9.126-antix.1-amd64-smp I used MXPI. This time after installing MX 4.19 .. It isn't showing my current kernel (4.9.126-antix.1-amd64-smp) so I can't remove it. I'll see if Synaptic will do it. Edit / Update .. Synaptic did the trick. Now using: 4.19.0-1-amd64 - The 4....

Re: Unable to play DVDs

Anyway, I opened VLC and selected: Open Disc - Then the disk window opened with DVD checked and the path to the dvd - /dev/sr0 displayed. I clicked play and the menu opened with movie intro playing. I selected play movie and it worked fine. Would be nice to see the dvd movie play or the menu come u...

Re: Unable to play DVDs

A friend told me that he had purchased a set of video DVDs and they wouldn't play in Windows or Linux. They would only play on his home dvd player system. Not on his computers. My laptop doesn't have a cd/dvd player, but I do have a usb external player I can try. Will try a few movies and report bac...

Re: MX-17 Screenshots

Spent hours messing around with style settings, themes, icons and so on. I really don't like bright / white screens as they tend to bother my eyes. I set everything I could to dark & darker. Long story short - I didn't like it. Everything was just to dark. It was hard to distinguish one window from ...

Re: Nov 10 updates - grub-pc

I didn't hit the space bar to mark / select partition to install grub to and it asked me something like .. Are you sure you want to proceed without installing grub. - yes/no. I tabbed to "No" and it took me back. Then I got it right by selecting mbr partition. It listed 4 locations to install. Main ...
