When you mentioned the router in post #14, that got me thinking about the MAC filtering. :-)

I overlooked something that I really should have thought of earlier. I had MAC filtering enabled on the router from a long while back. I disabled it and the laptop WiFi now works fine. Doh! My bad.

Does it work in Windows? Else, it might be a router issue. Did you upgrade your router firmware recently if it was working before? Without much info on your networking setup, its hard to know what cannot connect. You can't assume its a MX-21 issue. There's no Windows machines in this house. There's...

It's the builtin wifi on a new laptop. I installed MX-21_ahs_x64.iso and even tried the 5.16 kernel. Wireless networks are seen, I try to connect, but it always fails.

Does anyone know how to get this working?
