I just installed the printer & scanner in Manjaro linux, there I only had one login also.

hp-setup repeats what Ive already been through and sets the printer up again. It doesn't solve the scanner issue.

Thanks, yes downloaded xsane. It is not allowing me to select root in Tweak, just stuck on user.. I only had one password which explains that. Looking as MX user manager but its not obvious how to change that.

I have an all in one HP Laserjet Pro MFP M125nw The printer setup was fine and works, but not the scanner, printer and scanner all worked fine on MX19 When I try and scan it says I need a plugin, when I select the download plugin option it asks me for my root password, but then tells me my password ...

My system broke after I installed wireguard dkms. My son is a wiz and got it back, uninstalled all wire-guard. Thanks for your reply but I am going to leave things as they are, I need this machine for work.
