Re: antiX-19-b1-full (64 and 32 bit) available

You may have the correct card set, but will need to find which channel is to be set. It may not be channel one. Perhaps channel 2 or 0 or what have you. You should be able to use aplay to play an audio file and specify the card , channel, and volume from terminal. Once you find the magic pair you ca...

Is there any ideas on what I can check to get the sound working?
Probably the utility in the control centre missed when configuring the sound file. Perhaps check ~/.asoundrc vs what aplay shows and try the different options manually.

Re: Important alerts ... email distribution

So are we suggesting a message system something like this? Perhaps even simpler where the script reads for a 401 vs 200 http code on a particular file? file named apt-get-safe in /usr/local/bin #!/bin/bash wget http://repo.antixlinux.com/check -O /tmp/check &> /dev/null if grep "unsafe" /tmp/check &...

Is gnome not in mx package installer under desktop environments?
I seem to recall it being there. Maybe it was only in antiX though...

Re: Unable To Install MX Linux 18.3 On Two PCs...

I feel as though we are missing a reason for why previous versions installed fine but the newest version requires a bios update... perhaps it may be worth while to try running the swapoff -a command manually vs through the installer. Hopefully will give a clue for why the installation would be stuck...

Re: User login fails after moving /home

At this point due to the copy vs rsync (I am not familiar with straight copying the home folder. I would say if the uuid is correct in fstab to mount the desired partition to /home then rename your Jim user folder to jim.bk then deluser Jim followed by add user Jim then see if you can log in. If you...

Re: How to Move Home to New Partition on Different HDD

It is quite easy imo. The only tricky part that I am not sure is even essential is to avoid using the home directory when you are trying to move it. Being that you already have a separate home partition is helpful. I normally make the new partition in gparted. Mount the new partition under /media/ne...

Re: 2 computers, 2 routers, 1 room

I had made a draft which explained in detail point for point to your last post. I am not certain what happened to it. (should have saved a text file as normal :/) I read your diagram wrong due to line wrapping or something and I thought it said Internet *line wrap here* (192.168.1.100) which I took ...

Re: Snapshot!!

I could be out to lunch here, but it sounds like the op is looking for an option to make only the linuxfs file and then the reverse option to copy and extract it in a partition of choice. So essentially clone a working partition / install? Therefore negating the need to make a linuxfs, make an iso, ...
