Re: Thunar action - single file backup

Looks like the hard way. I just copy and paste into my external book drive using the mouse. or Drag N Drop. I do either, copy and paste or drag n drop to my externals. That's how I been backing up all my important data since 1995. I just never trust to do it any other way. Especially those third-pa...

Re: When did you start using Linux and why?

Windows made me start on Linux. July 15th, 2003 SimplyMepis. I know it was the middle of July of 2003. Not sure if it was the 9th or the 18th. So met it in the middle. Got tired saying Middle of July 2003. July 15th 2003 was much easier to say. I started just before Ubuntu made it's first release. S...

Re: An addictive game.. hole.io

Thanks for sharing. I played the browser one. Change color of hole and name your player, don't follow the the hole players. Now off you go. Here is another link to explain the game better. https://www.ign.com/wikis/hole-io/Tips_and_Tricks

I met punched paper tape
Now I don't feel so old. Dot Matrix Paper is about a far as I go. I remember typing out a game code out of Ahoy! magazine for the Commodore 64. But I had a earlier PC before hand and that was the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A with the Dot Matrix Paper printer.

Re: Firefox start page

Just change it. The drop menu to Custom URL and add any URL address as your start page.

Homepage and New Windows Custom URL. I guess you want firefox.com(https://www.mozilla.org) which I don't know why.

And below it

New Tabs set that one to blank page.

Re: want to detect battery for conky

Thanks, but that part I have set correctly. My question is: how can I frame the battery section of the conky script with a condition that means only show if satisfied (i.e., "BAT" is present in that file). https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=133716 https://sourceforge.net/p/conky/bugs/320/ S...

Re: want to detect battery for conky

In the conky script.

This might help. I drop some link in reddit.com. The last post put their successful battery conky codes.

Re: Conky randomly disappears

I know how to make my disappear. I just roll the wheel on my mouse to switch workspaces and now my conky is gone. Are you doing anything when this randomly happens?

Re: RAID 10 options

This is a nightmare! I installed mdadm and there is no documentation at all on how to create a RAID 10 with it. Looks like I will have to try the other Giberish ways. All because Linux can't read from a hardware RAID 10. :soapbox: What's file system are you using?
