As MX moves higher in Distrowatch, our percentage of persons (whose hardware may not be very compatible with MX as configured at that moment in time) may remain the same but the number of persons will increase. 3% of 200 is 6; 3% of 2000 is 60, etc. (SWAG). Hi James, Only a couple of hours difference,unless you're in Queensland during the summer. Partitioning may sound scary, but it is really quite simple. The only distro hopping that I did was when mepis became MX. It wasn't much of a hop really, more of a cough, that quickly was cured when I ran back. ;) Likewise. For interest, I used googletranslate to convert Gerson's script back to English. It reads very well, a lot better than some other software translations.

Install and run CCleaner. It will clear out a bunch of detritus and accumulated crap. Then, the major thing, install MyDefrag: https://filehippo.com/download_mydefrag/ Run the Monthly script. It will take forever. But when it's done it will be fully defragged, compacted, and optimized for both Win ...
