Re: Libre Office 5.3

Suggest that Still version, (5.3.* , at present) should be the default in MX.

Libre Office 5.3

The Document Foundation have announced release of LO versions 5.3.6 and 5.4.1. The Still Version 5.3 has been available for a few months and includes improvements and fixes. Fresh 5.4.1 very new and likely to be buggy. In that the MX repo version is 5.2, is it worth upgrading to 5.3 now, or wait unt...

Re: please replace qpdfreader with another reader, if you haven't

Same happened to me. Once you have it installed, simply go to the folder containing the pdf you wish to read and click on the file name. In my case it sometimes
opens with Okular, so have to right click on the file name and select Document Viewer.

Re: please replace qpdfreader with another reader, if you haven't

@ asqwerth. I have looked at Evince again - wasted time trying to find it, not expecting the need to look for Document Viewer. On an initial trial, Evince looks to do all that I wish, but will do more comparisons over next the week or so. It does take about twice the file space of Okular - not a pro...

Not a problem for me, after a earlier few years with KDE am more than happy with xfce MX. Having Okular available on the repo is plenty good enough.

Re: please replace qpdfreader with another reader, if you haven't

Okular is described as a 'Universal Document Reader' hence your fail to find. Okular was the reader when Kubuntu was my OS. Hesitated to use it with Mepis/ MX as it could bring in a heap of KDE software dependencies, but after testing others, Okular was definitely preferred. Now that basic MX iso is...

Re: MX-16 package proposal: PeaZip (standalone feature-packed archiver)

Thanks for the translation files Richard. Have received some proof checked from Megatotoro, more to come. Peazip looks interesting, will give it a try, O.T.Not sure where you were in Louisiana but looks as if the western districts have suffered a bit from Harvey, with another tropical low developing...
