Re: Installing on separate HDD - where to put GRUB

I hope that this is not confusing. My system has 3 drives sda, sdb, sdc. sda is a SSD containing the current version of MX. The MBR is
saved in sda.

Re: MX-17 Beta 1 Feedback Thread

Some feedbacks on MX 17 beta1 thanks for trying these! I think its a problem with the libreoffice sets. We will get that updated (they worked with 5.2, but not with 5.4). As I understand the present Libre Office situation, 5.3 is the stable version for most users. 5.4 is still being developed and p...

Fastest is not always the bestist. Here down under, my fastest is the NZ mirror, which I believe is just down the road from me with a glass fibre link. This looks to be magnificent, but not always. Sometimes the local mirror will be the last for an update, sometimes again the update does not happen ...

Re: antiX-17 released

All fixed now but cause of problem not defined. Re-installed AntIx but still no sign of it in Grub. Used the Boot-repair tool to Rebuild the Grub list and Antix is now
there and boots up without any problem. Will use it for a day or two before looking for the original fault.

Re: antiX-17 released

Should any of you living north of the equator look south and see a column of smoke, not to worry it is not the end of the earth, just me going into orbit. Following my usual habit, I delayed a download of the new antiX for a couple of days in case there were any undiscovered bugs. I then tried to ge...

Re: Received error when trying to log out

Had this problem a couple of times in recent months. In each case it automatically fixed itself while I was looking for the cause. Decided that one of applications previously in use - LO and and Lyx - had not closed properly, making the OS hang. Not sure if problem had timed, out or a keypress had t...

Re: Keep mmikeinsantarosa and his family in your thoughts

Here in the Shaky Isles, we're much the same, or possibly worse than California for earthquakes. Timber framing is usual for housing, though the cladding may vary. Being planned for Wellingon (most likely city to have a shake) is a 12 level office block, foundation re-inforced concrete, but everythi...

Re: MX 15/16 Repository: the Qucs Thread

@ cyrilus It is over 40 years ago now Cyril, I was a Tutor for NZ Civil Aviation, classroom and field training on navigational aids. Qucs could have been very useful then.
