Just a personal opinion here, but Conky is the only thing I dislike about MX, and am looking for any way to remove it completely from my computer.
If if annoys you, go to the Menu and turn Conky Off

Both downloaded & installed no problems. Will have to do some reading of docs before testing, fldigi looks to have more than a few updates. Thanks Tim.

Re: how to change the icon of an application (qpdfview)?

Yes, the hicolor/scalable icon is the one used here too, though don't know why it is named hicolor, looks rather anaemic to me. Papirus theme gives you the choice of six sizes upwards from 16 x 16,

Edit. Have looked at the source code, the icon being used has been there for several years.

Re: how to change the icon of an application (qpdfview)?

The icon files for qpdfview are in: /usr/share/icons/Papirus/22x22/apps/ , and elsewhere in ..../Papirus/ they are svg files so you could draw your own and place it (them) in the folder. I did that years
ago when developing databases in Pascal.

Re: What Printer?

Cannot comment on that Model but have been using a Brother HL2310 laser for several years, very occasional paper jam, otherwise no problems once I had found a suitable driver. Before that used a earlier model Brother laser, updated because it was cheaper to get a new one than than a replacement drum...
