Re: MX 17 Repository: The QuteBrowser Thread

No joy here. Cannot find the newer 5.212 webkit5 package. Might be the NZ repo again so will try again later.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The qBittorrent Thread

This all looks a bit odd. An upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.1.3 works, but upgrades from 4.1.2 have problems ?

Re: Planning moving to MX

I am here for several reasons, the top two are: 1. MX is very stable and 2. MX support is extremely good IMHO.

Suggest you have a browse through the MX User Manual.

Re: MX 17 Repository: The qBittorrent Thread

@ smilliken I see that others on the qbittorrent forum are reporting problems with version 4.1. Perhaps I have been lucky ? there were a couple of issues when running 4.1.3 on my old desktop. I tried to move the whole torrent system onto another hard drive (that computer has 3 hd's) but could not re...

Re: MX 17 Repository: The qBittorrent Thread

I upgraded from 4.0.3 to 4.1.3 without any problems. Also added more torrents today, again no observed problems so far. All are seeding and uploading when there are any customers. Will leave the monitor on and look for any issues.

Re: Getting ready to pull the plug on MX-15 ... About ready to

What I do is not conventional but it works. Have a copy of Puppy on an HD. After any installation use the Puppy's Grub4Dos utility to make a new Grub
and put it on the MBR. Has the advantage of giving me a Grub screen that is easier to read with a better font.

Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

Thanks again Adrian. That is what I decided after reconsidering the first thought. There are still quite a few using Torrents to download MX-17.1 and some of those new folk may not be aware that they are getting a yet to be updated version. AntiX Torrents OK at present with 17.2 released only recent...

Re: Monthly snapshot announcement

Some muddled thinking ? 1. I should download the snapshot and use it to replace the MX iso in my torrents seeder. 2. No I should not. Unless every person in the seeding group does the same , the torrents will be seeing different seed files. I believe the second thought to be correct. However this me...

Re: Disabling the Test, Experimental and Multimedia repositories

Except that it appears to have caused some conflicts based on some recent forum posts where some users apparently left MX Test or Backports enabled by accident when they closed MXPI before updates/installs were completed. I have done this, not intentionally, and only realised it when a large number...
