Re: Redshift needs geoclue?
Thanks. Reading post 4 then post 5 does seem a key takeaway.
Your added detailed knowledge is much appreciated and offers much useful reading.
I'm pleased with my new look GKrellM so 'll look at adding Redshift to my to do list of learning to customise small things.
regards
Mick

Re: Gimp scan function
*removed repeat post*
Gimp is great for detail like working with layers but I'll use it next time I scan old photos and see if it makes things any easier than using Document Scanner, which I've previously used. For one off jobs, going straight to Gimp has a lot of potential advantages.

Gimp scan function
Hi After noticing some discussion around scanning and Gimp as an option, I discovered my MX 23 didn't recognise a scanner either. I tried other Linux installs to confirm antiX/MX were not unique, which is the case. Gimp by default doesn't seem to detect/use an available scanner. Searching web soluti...

Redshift needs geoclue?
A couple of threads suggest that Redshift needs the geoclue package to work. I haven't tried this or a script activation option that might work and reduce system load running as background. However, Redshift didn't really do anything when I tried it apart from appear in the System Tray. https://foru...

https://i.postimg.cc/qhXXFKyw/Screenshot-2024-04-21-12-32-39.png I do have an invisible Panel, without any shadow, custom Setting Manager icon, 1 row Workspace Switcher (currently using 2 monitors, so wider than usual). %P added to Clock for am/pm and increased font to 12pt Sans Bold, to better mat...

Virtual Box will mount it, and more.
A live USB is a more common scenario that MX Live USB Maker manages well.
It's all about what you want to do with that iso?

Re: What killer feature(s) would the MX devs love to implement?
Will it have a completely new, 'simpler' start menu and widgets? You DO know that you can change all that to your liking, right? But of course, which makes is so much better than dealing with the current MS offering I've had the misfortune of helping a couple of new users with recently :h...
