Thanks, for helping. F9 got me to the options.
I am sorry about posting twice. I thought that "(solved)" meant my post would not show up here. My apologies.

Re: After installing MX21 : 'grub_register_command_lockdown' not found [Solved]
I have a similar problem. My 5 year old HP pavilion laptop used to dual boot into Windows 10 and MX19. I have used a DVD to install MX21 over the top of MX 19. I have left the Windows installation in place and am reusing my linux /home partition. If I boot into "secure mode" (selecting in ...

Re: Just want to say I love MX KDE!
As an ancient MEPIS fanboy I have been wandering the Linux wastelands with Neon, mint, assorted 'buntus and other unsatisfying partners until now I find you lovely MXers have solved my problem. Even my old forum login still works and some of the old pals are still kicking around the neighbourhood. So...

"stable" Chrome may segfault i386 Debian stable - e.g. MX14

Re: Presario c500 won't turn off and wireless won't turn on
Thanks to all for your input. As D. Beckett says, the wireless problem was causing shutdown to stall. It was a process which was refusing to die (the "Agent Smith" problem I suppose). I had forgotten that some distros load the wrong firmware for my sort of BCM4311 wireless ship and I have ...

Re: Presario c500 won't turn off and wireless won't turn on
Thanks for the reply. I think I am locked out of the keyboard by then but I'll give REISUO a try. For now, needing to check my mails, I've installed Xubuntu since I know the Ubuntu flavours fit my hardware well. When I have time I'll try MX14 again. As for the wireless, is it just a matter of downlo...

Presario c500 won't turn off and wireless won't turn on
I am trying out MX14 and I congratulate Anti and the team for a fascinating effort. I have a couple of probs though. Firstly, my 7 year old Compaq Presario C500 just won't turm off. I get encouraging shut down messages scrolling down until we get to "shutting down disc [sda1] then nothing furth...
